- Coding and Factory Warranty
- In most cases, coding does not affect the factory warranty, as it involves adjusting software parameters already built into the vehicle.
For example, features like the Auto Start/Stop system operate based on predefined values (e.g. enabled/disabled). Coding simply changes these settings — it does not involve physical modifications or interference with the vehicle’s hardware.
⚙️ How does it work?
We modify existing software configurations within the vehicle
No additional parts are installed
No hardware changes are made
👉 This means the process is non-invasive and reversible
⚠️ Important notice
Dealer policies may vary.
While we have extensive experience and have not encountered warranty issues related to coding, the final decision always rests with the vehicle manufacturer or authorized dealer.
✅ In short
Coding = software adjustment
No mechanical changes
No direct impact on vehicle components
👉 In practice, it is considered safe — but always subject to dealer interpretation.
- CarPlay / Screen Mirroring Activation and Factory Warranty
- We have extensive experience with activating features such as Apple CarPlay and Screen Mirroring, and we have not encountered issues related to warranty claims.
In some cases, navigation units have been replaced under warranty for reasons unrelated to the activation itself — without any complications from the dealer.
⚙️ How does it affect the warranty?
Activating CarPlay or Screen Mirroring:
involves software-level changes only
does not require hardware modifications
enables features that are often already present but inactive
⚠️ Important notice
We are not responsible for decisions made by authorized dealers
Warranty policies may vary depending on the dealer and country
👉 However, based on our experience, such activations do not affect the warranty of the entire vehicle
In rare cases, a dealer may question warranty coverage only for the specific multimedia unit (radio/navigation) — not the whole car.
✅ In short
No hardware interference
Activation of existing features
No impact on the entire vehicle warranty
👉 In practice, this is considered safe — but always subject to dealer interpretation.
- SLI (Traffic Sign Recognition) and Factory Warranty
- When activating Traffic Sign Recognition (SLI), we use original FSC codes purchased directly from BMW AG, assigned to the vehicle’s VIN.
These are the same factory-authorized codes used during vehicle production and are fully compatible with the KAFAS camera system.
⚙️ What does this mean?
100% OEM (original BMW) solution
No unofficial or modified software
Full compatibility with the vehicle systems
👉 The activation is performed using factory-approved methods
⚠️ Warranty information
Since original BMW FSC codes are used, this type of activation is considered factory-compliant.
👉 In practice, this means it should not affect the vehicle warranty.
However, as with any modification, final interpretation may depend on the dealer.
✅ In short
Original BMW FSC codes
VIN-matched activation
No unofficial solutions
👉 Safe, compliant, and aligned with factory standards.
- Vehicle Software Update and Factory Warranty
- Vehicle software updates are performed using the original BMW ICOM NEXT diagnostic interface — the same equipment used by authorized dealerships.
We connect directly to the vehicle and perform a full system scan to determine whether an update is required.
⚙️ How does it work?
Connection via official BMW diagnostic tools (ICOM NEXT)
Full vehicle scan and software verification
Installation of the latest available software version
👉 All updates are carried out using genuine, manufacturer-level software
⚠️ Warranty information
Since we use original BMW hardware and official software, the update process follows manufacturer standards.
👉 This means it should not affect the factory warranty.
However, as always, final interpretation may depend on the authorized dealer.
✅ In short
Original BMW diagnostic equipment
Genuine software
Dealer-level update process
👉 Safe, compliant, and in line with factory procedures.
- Do you offer a warranty?
- Yes — we provide a lifetime warranty on our modifications.
⚙️ What does it cover?
Our warranty applies specifically to the software modifications we perform.
👉 This means:
If any issue is related to our modification, we will resolve it
Our work is fully supported and guaranteed
⚠️ Important clarification
We are not the vehicle manufacturer and cannot provide a warranty for the entire car or its mechanical components.
Like any vehicle, parts may fail over time — regardless of whether modifications have been performed or not.
👉 However, our experience shows that properly carried out modifications do not negatively affect vehicle reliability.
✅ In short
Lifetime warranty on our work
Full support for all modifications
No risk from properly performed coding or tuning
👉 You can be confident in the quality and safety of our services.
- Chiptuning and Factory Warranty
- When it comes to chiptuning, it is important to understand how it may affect the factory warranty.
Modern manufacturers — including BMW — use advanced diagnostic tools that can detect modifications to the engine control unit (ECU), even if the software is restored to its original version.
⚠️ Warranty considerations
ECU modifications may be detectable by the manufacturer
In the event of a failure, a warranty claim may be declined
This applies even if the vehicle has been returned to stock software
👉 For this reason, chiptuning always involves a certain level of risk when the vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty.
⚙️ Our approach
We always perform tuning within safe operating limits, using proven solutions developed through experience and testing.
Our goal is to:
maintain reliability
ensure stable performance
avoid unnecessary stress on engine components
✅ In short
Chiptuning may affect warranty decisions
Detection by the manufacturer is possible
The final decision always rests with the dealer/manufacturer
👉 We always inform our customers transparently so they can make an informed decision.
- Chiptuning and Vehicle Approval
- According to Polish regulations, any modification that affects the vehicle’s technical parameters, including engine power, may require formal approval and updating of the vehicle documentation.
However, current regulations do not explicitly define chiptuning or provide a clear procedure for verifying power changes after software modifications.
⚠️ Important information
Responsibility for ensuring compliance with local regulations lies with the vehicle owner
In some cases, additional inspection or approval may be required
The method of verifying power changes is not clearly defined in regulations
👉 For this reason, the interpretation and requirements may vary depending on the inspection authority.
🌍 Different rules in different countries
Legal requirements regarding power modifications vary significantly between countries.
👉 We recommend checking the applicable regulations in your country before performing any modifications.
✅ In short
No clear legal framework for chiptuning in many cases
Regulations may apply if vehicle parameters are officially changed
Final interpretation depends on local authorities
- Does chiptuning shorten engine life?
- Chiptuning, when performed correctly, does not significantly reduce engine lifespan.
Modern engines are designed with safety margins, and properly developed software uses these reserves without exceeding safe operating limits.
⚙️ What really affects engine lifespan?
Engine durability depends mainly on:
driving style
maintenance quality
service intervals
overall technical condition of the vehicle
👉 These factors have a much greater impact than a properly executed software modification.
🛡️ Our approach
We always tune within safe limits, ensuring:
stable operation
controlled temperatures and pressures
no excessive stress on engine components
Our goal is to improve performance without compromising reliability.
🔧 Maintenance matters
Regardless of tuning, proper maintenance is essential.
👉 We strongly recommend:
regular oil changes every 10,000–12,000 km
using high-quality oil and filters
keeping the vehicle in good technical condition
In practice, poor maintenance can cause far more damage than a well-executed tune.
✅ In short
Safe tuning ≠ reduced engine life
Maintenance and usage matter most
Reliability always comes first
👉 When done professionally, chiptuning is safe for everyday use.
- Can modifications be reverted to factory settings?
- Yes — at any time.
Whether you are selling the vehicle, returning it after a lease, or simply prefer to restore the original configuration, we can revert all modifications.
⚙️ How does it work?
We restore the vehicle to its original state by:
removing all coding changes
reversing any software modifications (including chiptuning)
reinstalling the original factory software
👉 The vehicle is returned to full factory specification
✅ In short
Fully reversible process
No permanent changes
Factory settings can be restored at any time
👉 Safe, simple, and fully under your control.
- Can dealership updates remove our modifications?
- Yes — in some cases.
During service actions or software updates at an authorized dealership (ASO), the vehicle may receive a full software update, which can overwrite and remove previously applied coding or modifications.
⚙️ What happens then?
No problem —
👉 we will restore all coding modifications free of charge.
⚠️ Important exception – chiptuning
Engine software (chiptuning) works differently.
If the ECU is updated by the dealership:
the previous tuning will be overwritten
a new tuning file must be prepared based on the updated software
👉 In such cases, re-tuning may involve an additional cost (typically 800–1000 PLN, depending on the model).
✅ In short
Dealer updates may remove modifications
Coding is restored free of charge
Chiptuning may require re-tuning
👉 You’re always covered — we’ll help you get everything back.
