  • WHY DO WE DON’T USE A HAMMER?
  • Our engineers, who “modify” us engine maps of almost every car, are experts in their field. They have over 17 years of experience in chip tuning. This means that the program they wrote is simply of the highest quality. This does not mean that they do not use a dyno to develop the so-called Stage (1,2,3,4). Of course, they do what they do, and what’s more, vehicles that are tuned by them for the first time are thoroughly analyzed for performance and durability using an advanced measuring tool. Simply put – we know how much we can increase the power in your vehicle, because we have tested the strength of components by our engineers. Hence, our tunings have been repeatedly tested on almost identical vehicles and the base remains very similar to the one we will use in your vehicle. Anticipating your question, which you would definitely like to ask here and which would be: “But you tune individually or upload ready-made”? There is no such thing as a prefab until you download it from “Hamster” or some other questionable source. We have developed the highest quality Stage 1 for all BMWs and the base itself does not change much. This is how it works when you go to a tuner with a dyno, when the same car appears for the hundredth time, the base is identical, it is the starting point. Of course, we always have to adapt it to the car, even to its “meter”;). If we see a high mileage in the vehicle, we also very scrupulously diagnose it in terms of a possible efficiency problem of the fuel system, turbine, so-called inlet leakage or flowmeter efficiency. After such a diagnosis, we know whether we can “add to the furnace” or lightly “go down”, eg with the fuel itself. It should also be taken into account that we work in 99% with BMW cars and when we convert from several hundred to a thousand of these vehicles a year, we know “what and what to eat”. We have original diagnostic tools, testers and advanced software that is able to detect the slightest deviations from the norm in modern cars. It is also worth adding that the dyno will show us that only HERE and NOW the car generates such power and ONLY ON THIS DAMAGE. The power is not “zero one”, it will be completely different on one dynamometer than on the other. In summer, when it is warmer, it can be lower, in winter it can be higher, high in the mountains or in the valleys, also different due to the amount of oxygen. The power of the car is not static and it constantly changes due to a number of factors such as temperature, fuel, pressure, etc. When it comes to the correct indications on the dynamometer, the measurement itself is of great importance here, as well as the intention of the diagnostician who the vehicle “brakes”. Changing the air flow on the dynamometer may lower or increase the result by a few KM / Nm. It is the same with the weight of the car, how much we weight the “fasten the car with belts” is of colossal importance. You can freely manipulate such a measurement and it will not really be known what power we have in the car. The diagnostician who takes the measurement can change the dynamometer parameters so that, for example, 20 KM more or less comes out without any effort. The information that the dyno is a representation of a good quality program is highly untrue and unfortunately it can be put into fairy tales. We always give the power after modification approximately, but with an accuracy of + -5 HP, based on approx. 20 identical “braked” cars by our tuners on very high-class dynamometers. They spend a lot of time refining the “Stage” to perfection, so that all parameter values ​​were within safe limits, and the car was as reliable as in the series. We never move the temperature limiters, so there is no risk that something will be too much and it will become dangerous. Our tuners “tune” cars even remotely for motorsports in other countries, and they make corrections based on logs received from people who are next to the car. In our case, it works the same. Logs from our computer, sent to our engineers, are the material on the basis of which they make corrections. Apart from the above issue, you can always check the result on your own on any, but good quality dyno and confirm what we say. Of course, the result will be right when the intention of the tuner is fair and not to underestimate the result.
  • CODES AND THE FACTORY VEHICLE WARRANTY
  • When it comes to keeping the guarantee with encodings, it shouldn’t be a problem. We activate, or rather change the values of functions built into the car. An example of a Star-Stop system. To simplify it, it takes two values: 0 or 1. In Europe, the default is 0, and pressing the deactivation button, we set the value to 1. In other continents or countries, the default is 1, different than in Europe. Thus, we find no logical justification for denying the guarantee when we change these values with a computer. We have already activated this type of service many times and there has never been a problem. Always be aware that your dealer may react differently to modifications to a vehicle under warranty. From experience, however, we have observed that there are no problems, so we do not know why it would change.
  • ACTIVATION – CARPLAY, SCREEN MIRRORING AND THE FACTORY VEHICLE WARRANTY
  • We know of cases of warranty replacement of navigation units after our CarPlay, Screen Mirroring activations for various reasons unrelated to the modification. The dealer replaced the navigation units free of charge under the warranty and there was never a problem. Of course, please note that we are not the guarantor and cannot be held responsible for any problems caused by your BMW dealer. However, please note that the dealer cannot take back the warranty for the entire vehicle due to a modification to the radio / navigation. Could possibly have a financial claim on the unit itself e.g. (radio) in case of CarPlay activation if there would be a problem and not the entire car. On the one hand, it is an interference with the radio’s software, and on the other hand, it is simply the inclusion of a function that is already in this radio but remains inactive. As we mentioned, however, we can see from experience that there are no problems, so we don’t know why it would change.
  • SLI – TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION AND THE FACTORY VEHICLE WARRANTY
  • When it comes to keeping the warranty when activating character reading, we purchase the license / FSC code directly from BMW AG, under the car’s VIN. This is the original code for the KAFAS camera in the car, the same as it would be implemented at the car production stage. So we are pretty sure that there shouldn’t be any problem. Otherwise, BMW AG would not sell these codes.
  • VEHICLE UPDATE AND FACTORY VEHICLE WARRANTY
  • The update of the vehicle consists in connecting to the car the original BMW ICOM NEXT diagnostic tool, which we have, the same one used in the Dealership. We connect the car with the software and after scanning we know if the car needs updating. The software is genuine.
  • DO YOU GIVE A WARRANTY?
  • The question of what exactly are you asking. For modification, yes, for a car, no;). What does it mean? We are not the manufacturer of the vehicle, we do not “sit” in the engine and its accessories, no one knows when something in the car will be damaged and we are no exception;). Cars just break down whether they are modified or not, whether they have chip tuning or not. It does not matter. We cannot be responsible for the fact that the car broke down, but we are sure that it will not be caused by our modification. We give a lifetime warranty for our modifications, it has always been this way and always will be.
  • CHIPTUNING AND FACTORY WARRANTY
  • When it comes to Chiptuning and warranty maintenance, at the moment, at least the BMW brand has tools that are able to detect that the engine control unit (ECU) has been modified. Despite the restoration of the original software (flash back to stock), there is still a high risk that the manufacturer will refuse a warranty repair in the event of a failure. When modifying your vehicle, which has a manufacturer’s warranty, you bear a risk that you must be aware of.
  • CHIPTUNING AND VEHICLE APPROVAL
  • According to Polish law, increasing the power above 5% requires reporting this fact at the diagnostic station and performing an additional inspection, which will allow the new power to be included in the registration certificate. This responsibility falls on the vehicle owner. Check the laws in your country.
  • DOES CHIPTUNING SHORTEN THE LIFE OF THE ENGINE?
  • The engine is a consumable element that is subject to constant wear. Modification of the engine map (so-called chip tuning) does not extend the life of operating components and does not make the car failure-free. In case of bad use or design defects of the car, a breakdown will occur anyway, and the modification carried out is irrelevant here. If something in the car is to be damaged, it will be damaged anyway, regardless of the modification. Please note that more damage to the engine can be done by extending the service intervals than by modifying it. Therefore, we recommend always changing the oil (regardless of the presence of chip tuning) in the intervals of 10-12 thousand, and not in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations every 30 thousand. km.
  • IS IT POSSIBLE TO RETURN TO SERIAL SETTINGS OF ALL MODIFICATIONS MADE?
  • Of course, at any time, whether it is when selling the car, handing it over after the lease is over, renting it or because of some breakdown. We can always restore all serial settings, from coding to undoing “chiptuning”, through uploading the original factory software to the end.
  • DOES THE ASO CLEAR THE MODIFICATIONS MADE DURING THE SERVICE ACTION?
  • There is a chance that during a special service action, the ASO will be forced to upload new software to the car, and thus unknowingly delete all or all modifications and coding made by us. However, don’t worry, in this case we will restore everything for FREE. The exception here is the modification of the “chiptuning” engine. If for some reason the engine controller is updated, we will have to make another modification based on the new software, the cost of such a correction may be around PLN 300-500 depending on the car model.
